Lisa McPherson

Lisa started grooming approximately three years ago after taking grooming classes and undergoing a one year course to obtain her Certificate in Animal Care from Carrington Unitec.

This enabled her to understand basic animal behaviour, determine skin/health problems, and keep her up-to-date on animal welfare standards including the importance in health & hygiene and first aid for animals

Lisa opened up a grooming parlour in Green Bay called Alpha Kare, which soon grew to a point where she needed to find a larger location.  While the business grew, so did the concept of Doggie Daycare, so Lisa then set about combining the two which is now known as K9 to 5.

Lisa grooms full-time Monday – Saturday and is registered with the NZ Grooming Association.  She is currently undergoing exams (3 year course) to obtain a New Zealand Master Grooming Certificate.

Lisa is skilled in all aspects of grooming from basic wash & blow drying to full scissoring work on all breeds.

Lisa has a “no cage” policy in her parlour for the dogs, believing that many have a more eventful time at the groomers when they are allowed to walk around freely and learn to stand still on the table by themselves.

Vicki Rainbow

Vicki has been working alongside Lisa on a part-time basis for over one year.  Prior to this,

her background has been as a Mobile Dog Groomer for 9 years.

She has also studied two out of her three years at Carrington Unitec toward a Diploma in Animal Science and is highly knowledgeable in areas of animal behaviouralism, health & safety and first aid for animals.

Vicki is skilled in prep work, washing & blow drying, clipper work and is currently been trained up for full scissoring work.

Vicki is looking at being registered also with the NZ Grooming Association and undergoing her Masters Grooming Certificate.

Eri Tokita

Eri joined us at the beginning of this year with a wealth of knowledge and experience within the grooming arena.

Prior to living in New Zealand, she studied three years as a Dog Grooming Beautician at a school in Japan.  After successfully completing this, she then worked in a vet clinic for a further two years assisting in all vet procedures and also grooming.

Eri then moved to New Zealand where she spent three years full time in a grooming parlour in Auckland.

Eri is skilled in all aspects of grooming from prep work, wash & blow drying through to full scissoring work on all breeds.
